< Previous Next >

Here's the first image from this fall. Cocoon Nebula is a nebula associated with open cluster IC5146 in constellation Cygnus. It is very photogenically situated into the end of long dark nebula Barnard 168. Cocoon is also known as Sharpless 2-125 and Caldwell 19. In the background glow dense starfields of Milky Way. Distance to the Cocoon is about 4000 ly from here. Conditions during imaging session was fairly good, altough few passing clouds ruined five frames.
