Computer upgrade

I've always used Linux in the field, but now that I have DMK camera I thought life would be easier with WindowsXP. My problem was 128MB RAM in my current laptop was plenty enough for Linux, but no way I could use it with XP. Upgrading the proprietary memory of my old laptop had cost almost the same than the new netbooks just got out in the market. I decided to test ASUS eee PC 4G, since I had an opportunity to try it before buying decicion. I found a web site with instructions how to install XP onto this little machine. This is quite a nice piece of hardware. The small size is a definite plus and it consumes incredibly little power, 22W maximum. Display is a bit small, but with ASTray downscaled 800x600 it is usable and enough for PHDGuiding for example. In the picture there's the Eee with Kendrick controller and PowerFlex drive controller. Under those are USB hub, USB-Serial converter, Canon EOS power supply and a terrible knot of cables. Everything fits into medium sized toolbox!
