Albireo

< Previous Next >I have never imaged double stars before and didn't realise how difficult they are to make a nice picture. I wanted to get the colors right, include background stars and four diffraction spikes. To make four diffraction spikes I marked my tube with 90° marks. I took half the images and rotated the tube and the camera by 90°. To avoid excessive saturation of Albireo while exposing the background stars correctly I took several different lenght of exposures. I had quite good set of images, the about 2700x2000 size original is quite sharp. This is cropped and scaled version of the original
