M27 - The Dumbbell Nebula
17:44 30/9/2005 UTC
< Previous Next >Last weekend we had a Deepsky Meet. It is a star party like gathering of Finnish deep sky amateurs. The meet was held in very dark location (limiting magnitude was about 6.8), my first opportunity to take long exposures in such conditions. Of course my mount did not co-operate with me, so I was practically limited to 2 minute exposures. I had PEC trained before taking this image. I probably pushed the gears some while finding M27, because it didn't track very well. But exposing 2 minutes with ISO800 gave no signal of background sky and weather was quite cold resulting a lot better SNR than I usually have!
