Mars

This is my very first Mars image of the season. Mars was a bit low on the sky and I had terrible tube currents, because my telescope did not have enough time to cool down. My battery pack was so empty I had to capture a bit earlier I intended. However with the help of the IR pass I managed to capture at least something! This is an IrRGB composite where luminance channel is from IR shot and color is from RGB shot. According to Mars Previewer II there are several features which can be identified from the image. South polar cap is the bright spot in the top of the globe and the large darker area in the right is Mare Erythraeum. Quite fun!
